Harry B. O'Donnell III Performance Awards - 2013
It is officially Harry O'Donnell III Award Nomination time!!!! Now is the time to nominate one or more of your outstanding brothers for this year's Harry B. O'Donnell Performance Awards. These are the highest awards given to Active members of the Louisville Chapter!
There are three awards: Award for Leadership, Award for Scholarship and Award for Brotherhood. Each award consists of a framed certificate and a $150 cash scholarship. Presentation of the awards occurs at the Louisville Chapter's Founders' Day Banquet. Additionally, the name of each award winner shall be engraved on a plaque that will be displayed at the chapter house.
Everyone in the chapter is automatically eligible for the Award for Scholarship so no nominations are taken for that award. The Award for Leadership recognizes that Active member who exhibited significant leadership within Triangle, on campus and/or in the community during the 2012 calendar year. The Award for Brotherhood recognizes that Active member who consistently demonstrated exemplary Brotherhood during the 2012 calendar year. This year's nomination forms (HODIIINomForm2013.doc) as well as the award guidelines (HODIIIProgram2013.doc) are attached. All nominations must be received by Bret Feger no later than Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Now that you have an electronic version of the forms, you can fill it out and e-mail it back to Bret Feger. That is the preferred way to submit a nomination. Bret Feger will send you a confirmation message to let you know he has received the nomination. If you don't hear from him within a day or two, re-send the nomination. You can also send nominations via US Mail. His address is 3904 Fairfield Hill Ct, Louisville, KY 40245. Please allow enough time for Bret Feger to receive your nomination if sending it via US Mail so it isn't late.
Each nomination must be typed on the official Nomination Form and must be signed by the nominator (electronic signatures are permissible by sending through email). Each Nomination Form must be complete and should include as much detail as possible to define adequately why you believe the Brother should receive the award - with good, clear supporting examples. To present the best case for the nominee, you may wish to interview the nominee for information or to submit a copy of the nominee's résumé that would show his participation in Triangle, campus, and/or civic activities. All nominations must be received by Bret Feger by ** Wednesday, March 20, 2013 **.
Remember, only Actives who were initiated in 2012 or earlier can be nominated for one of these awards. Sorry, that means that those guys in the Fall 2012 Pledge class are not eligible for the Awards this year - you'll have to wait until next year to try to win one. But, all current Pledges, Actives, and Alumni may nominate a Brother for one of the awards. You may also submit more than one nomination. And, don't forget that you may also nominate yourself. Some past winners have come from self-nominations, but like the KY Lottery, you can't win if you are not nominated. Nominations are confidential - only the judging committee (made up of alumni) will know who nominated whom - unless you decide to tell someone yourself. After the judges have selected winners, the judging panel will issue a list of nominees for each award and a list of those who submitted nominations.
If you have any questions, please email or call Bret Feger at BTFeger@thepoint.net or 502-386-7432.
